WHAT IS THIS ?

When I began to make songs, playing an instrument was only a necessity to sing, music was just a medium to sing on it, lyrics a pretext to have something to sing.

Sometimes you sing anything and it becomes the starting point of an idea. Or you may take your guitar and the song comes from nowhere.

There’s a funny game about that : tryng to catch the idea as fast as you can. That’s the reason why  many songwriters collect hundreds of rough drafts, in case they forget or want to finish the stuff...one of these days.

My “SILLY SONG” concept is a solitary game : the aim is to finish a track (not a rough draft) in less than one hour. It must be short, very short. You must do it fast, very fast. You need some words, but they don’t really matter, and are often silly, but who knows... Remember, just one hour left to go !

Practicing “Silly Songs” is closely related to 3 am bedtimes, a well known musician bad habit. So it’s not  an healthy behaviour that could be recommended for youngsters ( at least to my daughter...) .
